Choose the mode before progressing
Use Online if you want the leaderboard or Steam Market, and keep a stable connection. Online requires your own copy of the game. Choose Singleplayer for a character that will not use those social features; the release FAQ describes no later in-game mode switch.
Pick a class whose attacks appeal to you. You can start without an endgame set.
Start a repeatable run
- Open Map (M) and select an unlocked Normal map in Kings Woods, the opening region. Maps unlock in sequence; start with the earliest available node rather than a later boss.
- Use the map’s Travel entry. The hero attacks automatically. Choose abilities in Abilities (S) as they unlock; keep an available basic attack in the rotation instead of planning around skills you cannot yet use.
- Open Combat Settings (C) to check the Health Potion auto-use threshold. Watch the charge counter as well as health. Automatic use still spends charges.
- After a completed run, enable Auto Rerun in the run summary if you want that same map to repeat. It starts another run after a countdown; progression to a new node and repeating the current node are separate choices.
Keep healing and loot from stopping the loop
When charges repeatedly run out, learn Auto Recovery → Revive Cooldown Reduction I → Auto Refill. From a fresh tree that path costs 700 gold; already-owned nodes do not need to be paid for again. Auto Refill supplies charges when you return to town or revive. Upgrade the Health Potion at the town healer when the next tier is available.
The carriage collects drops, but it has finite capacity. Keep useful rarities on Pick Up. For unwanted gear, the early selling path is Auto Recovery → Gold Find I → Equipment Auto-Sell, 1,700 gold in total from nothing. Then set the appropriate rarity action to Auto-Sell in Carriage Settings. The selected gear is sold on collection and uses no carriage space.
Legendary Reins are always picked up under patch 1.0.0i, regardless of the filter. That exception does not mean every ordinary item bypasses your carriage settings.
Return to town and continue
If you need to empty the carriage or restore supplies, use Return to Town (R). The documented return is a three-second channel; death, changing area or pressing R again interrupts it. Transfer or sell the loot you intend to dispose of, keeping gear you still need.
Before traveling again, collect items left on the ground and clear remaining carriage contents. Space collects ground loot. A warning about loot remaining in town is a storage problem to fix before selecting Travel again. Return to the stable map and resume the repeat loop.
Know when to push forward
Use a short repeat test. A sustainable starting loop clears the chosen map repeatedly, restores healing when needed, and handles loot without the carriage permanently filling.
- Frequent deaths or exhausted healing: use an easier unlocked map and improve recovery or survivability.
- Empty mana and long gaps between attacks: check your equipped skills and mana generation.
- A full carriage while unwanted gear piles up: check the learned selling node and each rarity’s action.
- Stable clears with supplies and space remaining: try the next unlocked node, then compare the whole loop again.
Use these checks to decide whether your character is ready to progress; no performance benchmark has been measured here. Expedition Camp provides gold and XP for time away, rather than letting several characters fight at once.
