Start with the skills you can use
Use Threefold Strike at the start. At level 15, Furious Fist opens a physical basic-attack route: hits build attack-speed stacks, up to 20, but those stacks last four seconds. Keep Spirit Stream available from level 15 when healing is the problem. Sacred Judgment, the first strong attack at level 5, deals lightning damage; a physical bonus does not turn it into a physical skill.
At level 20, Piercing Lunge provides a physical strong attack for 32 mana. At 30, Spirit Twin copies your basic and strong attacks. At 40, Wind Steps supplies temporary dodge. A physical setup at that stage is Furious Fist + Piercing Lunge, with Spirit Twin and Wind Steps; replace one special with Spirit Stream if staying alive is more valuable than the extra attacks.
Level-32 physical talent example
Spend in the order below. This starting allocation meets the row requirements and node limits in the 1.0.0i data planner. It has not been tested in a recorded clear or established as optimal.
| Order | Add points | Total spent |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Physical Damage 5; Dodge Chance 5 | 10 |
| 2 | Mirror Steps 1; Attack Speed 4 | 15 |
| 3 | Zephyr’s Flow 5 | 20 |
| 4 | Fundamentals 10; Chi Ward 1 | 31 |
With one point earned per level after level 1, this needs level 32. Mirror Steps gives physical damage after dodging; Zephyr’s Flow generates mana on a dodge. Chi Ward heals per mana actually spent. These effects address different parts of the loop, and none guarantees survival against a large hit or damage over time.
Correct the old talent advice
Zephyr’s Flow unlocks after 15 talent points have been spent. At five ranks, it restores up to 10 mana per dodge. Mirror Steps is the 10-point capstone and now gives +60% physical damage for four seconds after a dodge.
Formless requires 60 points already spent, then one more point to buy it. A fresh level-61 character has 60 points and cannot pay that additional point. Its effect converts dodge chance into bonus critical damage; it does not grant dodge or guarantee critical hits. Each capstone row permits one choice.
Add runes and equipment in stages
Before Inferno set drops, use ordinary runes for the skill you actually cast, Dexterity and physical damage, with health or Life on Hit where needed. Rune slots open at 40, 45, 50, 55, 60 and 65.
Hundred Hands gives +100% basic-attack damage at two pieces. Four pieces add physical damage per Furious Fist stack. Six pieces give Furious Fist a chance to cast Golden Palms for free without knockback. The sixth slot needs level 65, and the normal Golden Palms skill unlocks at 50. Do not assume the six-piece effect when only two or four pieces are equipped.
Prioritize weapon damage, Dexterity and physical/basic-attack bonuses for this route. Preserve enough health, resistance and mana recovery to keep attacking. A missing named legendary is a reason to use a suitable rare item, not to stop playing until the complete set drops.
Check what is failing
If Furious Fist stacks repeatedly fall off between waves, compare an available alternative such as Seismic Strike rather than treating its peak stack value as permanent. If mana runs dry, review dodge-to-mana and strong-attack cost before adding more damage. If knockback makes you chase enemies, compare Piercing Lunge with normal Golden Palms on the same map. Keep a change only when repeated clears, healing use and the complete loop improve.
